pls help to resolve the problem with 840D

Weaddedsiemens PLC expansionmodule and communication module on the 840D,module type is below: expansionmodule (6ES7 361-3CA01-0AA0) expansioncable (6ES7 368-3BB01-0AA0) communication module (6GK7 343-1EX21-0XE0) The problem is that after a irregular period the 840D system will stop and must be restart. Who can tell me how about this problem and how to resolve it? Thanks.

SteveJ Posts: 328 Rating: (29)	Dear Sir You must examine the Diagnostic buffer on the PLC CPU, From this buffer, the cause of the stop can be identified. Make anMPI connection to NCU, and copy the project, then go on-line to the PLC.CPUin stop isdenoted by the Stop Icon in the project. then PLC > Diagnostic/setting > HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS > DIAGNOSTIC BUFFER Best regards SteveJ

SteveJ Posts: 328 Rating: (29)	Hi Tomtom The event to concentrate on is the one which occurred imediatley after the transition from STOP to RUN, this is event 12 in your log file. It would appear you have a problem witha distributed I/O slave, please check all conected modules, Best regards SteveJ

SteveA Posts: 297 Rating: (41)	It looks like you're getting a diagnostic interrupt because an external power supply is missing. You could configure the module to not cause an interrupt, but you should also have OB blocks loaded to respond to these events and not cause a PLC stop.
