810M PCIN transfer error

Good morning forum,

Im having a problem with an 810M control that someone took the battery out when the machine was off.

After recieving the backup files from the maker of the machine i have tried to reload the NC of the control using the old PCIN on an old computer that i have (Windows XP) but i am having dificulities passing large files.

For example ...

The first thing i have to do is reset everything according to the siemens manual ``How to reload your NC´´ then i have to load the TEA1 and TEA2 files my TEA1 file is large and my TEA2 file is quite short so when i try and transfer the TEA1 file it starts to transfer then stops after a seccond or two, but if i stop the process and start it the control recieves the rest of the file with no problems (another 15 secconds of transfer time more or less) but the problem is that the control dosent recconize it as a file because it stops

The TEA2 file passes within secconds and apears on both the NC and my PC as passes successfully

Has anyone had this problem before?

Hi,

I would guess that cable or settings are not set up for handshaking and the control needs to stop and start the transfer because it cannot load the data into the control quickly enough.

Try a lower baud rate and the control will be able to accept all data without needing to stop the transfer.

 I had the baud rate on 9600 and i lowered it to 4800, it did manage to load a bit more but only a little bit.

Is there anything else i could try?

And when you say lower the baud rate you mean on both the control and my laptop right?

The baud rates must match and you will probably need to drop to 300. It will take a lot longer but should work.

 Dear sir;   I want to check thes points with you. How you know that the TEA1 file is transfered correctly. If it was ok, then the pcin serial port settings are ok. Or you have to reset it according to your current machine parameyers. Then is your cable state is good or now. Then could you send me the TEA2 file. Ican check it myself.

Does anyone know what parameters i would have to change on the 810 control to lower the baud?

The tea1 file dosent transfer the tea2 does transfer. tea1 starts then stops but the tea2 starts then finishes without stopping and i can see when im transfering the tea2 file TEA2 on the cnc screen

Dear sir;

Your TEA1 file seems to be valid. I attached a small pdf for setting the serial baud rate on your machine, I followed this before and it works well.

Now you have to

1- decrease the baud rate, and take care that PCIN serial parameters agree with your machine parameter(you can send me pictures to check if you want).

2-change your cable or check it.

3- clear your NC data, and follow that attached procedure for loading.

I wait for the result.
