840d sinumerik all LED's lit and seven segment display shows 1 - 0 - 9 repeating

K.N.Rao Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Dear sirs, When we switch on 840d NCUall LED's are lit and seven segment display showing 8. Then as per siemens service engineer suggestion removed NCU card and shorted capacitor and put back. When switched on still all LED's are lit but seven segment display showing 1 then 0 then 9 (repeating contineously). If we switch off this time and ON its going back to original state all LED's lit and disply 8. Please help me to bring back my NCU into operation. Best regards K.N.Rao

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello... Looks like there NCU problem.... Could you disconnect the NCU battery for 15-20 minutes and put it back and check. Make NC and PLC clear properly and check Regards, Prakash

Could you disconnect the NCU battery for 15-20 minutes and put it back and check. Important: it comes to data loss Additional information: This work only with "Main switch off".

K.N.Rao Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Dear Mr.Ekalavya / Karl First of all Thanks a lot for your messages. The card was removed and kept out side for more than 24 hours. Still it shows all leds lit and 8 on display. Thenwe removed and short capacitor on the card and put back with s3 in pos1 and s4 in pos3. After switching on in this position still same condition but afterwe do reset onlythen display changing to 1 - 0 - 9 with all LED's lit. After this if we switch OFF and ON any no. of times no use, the disply showing contineously 8 and all LED's are lit. When i tried with S7 manager no any node is detected ( for info). Pls advice if any further. regards K.N.Rao

Make a full Backup from ALL 840D-Machines (NCK, PLC, MMC) 2. Make sure, the Backups is correct . . . 3. Change the NCK-Card (PCMCII-Card not touch, it must be leave in origin NCK-Card) 4. Clear and init the NCK-Card. Is the error in the same NCK-Card, the other NCK-Card is possible to init ? Yes: - NCK-Card is damage, must be repair. - PCMCII-Card is damage) Do you have write infos on this PCMCII-Card ? (Windows-PC) ( here you can damanges this CARD --> Linux) No: The "first" NCK-Card ist working now. ? (In the other machine) The other NCU-Card is not working in the machine ? - Cable are damage - NCU-Box is damaged - E/R-Module is damaged ( a voltage, that the NCK is need are bad or not correct) regards Karl

I feel this may help in suggesting me more check. Unit enable - yellow lit ext - green lit remaining spp, 5V, u2k and fourth one is not lit. regards K.N.Rao
