There are other path to transfer the data into the controller, for example by creating a soft key to a network drive from where you can copy the needed files and paste it to the MPF or SPF folders. I had had a bad experience in which the controller was infected with viruses. Nit

Mandous Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	RAM81 hi its posssible to do a networking between a PC and 840D. i would like to know whether its PCU20 or PCU50. in case of PCU50 its a normal networking which you need to perform in case of PCU 20 you need to purhase the ethernet connectivity option 6FC5253-OEA01-0AA0 plus HMI embedded network manager software with regards ram Hi, Today I had access to the machine and I've found I made silly mistake. Our machine uses PCU20 so I think as you said I can't use it's Ethernet with no additional cost for network manager am I right? I'm thinking for using serial port (as a lower cost option). Now my question is how can I transfer files via serial port? Can I use the COM port in the back of PCU20? does it need special cable or a simple "PC serial communication cable" is sufficient? and which software is required in PC side? thanks in advance A.
