I have the same issue with TIA Portal V17 Update 8.

I’m using the PLC 6ES7 513-1AM03-0AB0 (FW 4.0) but have configured it as 6ES7 513-1AL02-0AB0 (FW 2.9).

However, when I try to switch it to RUN mode, it immediately switches to STOP mode and displays the following error:

"Module exists. faulty
Differences were found between the loaded configuration and the offline project.
The online and offline module configuration data are different.
Fault LED (SF)

Additional information for the module:
Online article number:  6ES7 513-1AM03-0AB0
Offline article number:  6ES7 513-1AL02-0AB0"

Am I missing any other configuration? Do I have to downgrade the firmware of the CPU?

In TIA V17, the CPU 6ES7 513-1AM03-0AB0 must be configured as 6ES7513-1AL02-0AB0. The difference is displayed during the download. This is only a hint (not an error) and can be ignored.

The SF LED lights up for a different reason.

Please check in the HW configuration whether a module is marked red.

 I delete all that I believe that could create a problem, and that works. (Just the CPU and a simple program)
