Hello,

Can someone help me in converting STL program to LAD program?

I have a program with Function Blocks written in STL which will support S7-300 & S7-400 series PLC's.

But same program blocks are not supported in S7-1200 series PLC's because 1200 PLC is not supporting STL language program blocks using TIA Portal V11.

Is there any conversion tool available in Siemens for easy conversion?

I have not heard of automatic conversion of STL from S7-300/400 to equivalent LAD/FBD or SCL in S7-1200 platform.I think this is the reason of different controller structure and behavior.There are some occasions in S7-400 that the STL codes can not be used 1:1 for S7-300 like the caserelated to 2 extra accumulators and possible samples.

I suggets you, converting as much as binary logics as possible and for more complex cases, you can share your problem here for more helps.For a plant or more complex machines, I suggest you ask an experienced programmer(s) for help.

Yes I agree with you that there is no conversion tool (S7-300/400 to S7-1200) in Siemens.

So now I am trying myself to convert STL to LAD Logic.

I am having SIMATIC MANAGER V5.5 and program backup which has one FB & 2 FC's.

Most of the STL networks are converted to LAD using direct conversion option in SIMATIC MANAGER except two of them in FB.

Please help me in converting these two networks to LAD. Here I am copying the STL logic.

Look at Network1 above.
Divide the network into smaller pieces into more networks and let the software convert it for you. I have helped you by marking the new network borders with "*******".

As for Network2... the "SPBNB" jump function I do not recognise. See if you can find out what it is for.

I have written some notes for your case.It can be done automatically if you share the actual program to work on.But for now, I share the following comments:

1. load transfer is equivalent to MOVE in your target controller
   
   
2. Set is an always true signal and it is equivalent to parallel combination of NO and NC contact of the same binary address.
   
   
3. OR of 2 comparison is easy to implement
   
   
4. Assignment(=) is like contacts combinations and coil
   
   
5. SPBNB  is JNB in English version(Jump if RLO = 0 to jump label . Copy RLO bit contents into the BR bit.).I am not sure this applicable totally in S7-1200.You can only try jump if result is false.
   

Based on comment, your function can be an error evaluation block for an specific hardware.I am not sure if it works 100% in your new hardware.

Your explanation is very useful for me and I am able to convert 1st network to LAD. Where as 2nd network I could not. There are few more networks are available to convert but I am facing problems due to lack of knowledge on STL.

Here I am attaching Archived program backup, please help me. It has FB200, FC200, FC201 written in STL.

In FB 200, except 2 networks others are converted to LAD using direct conversion option in Simatic Manager. In FC200 & FC201 most of the networks are not converting to LAD.

This backup is created in SIMATIC MANAGER V5.5 SP3.

It is very important for me. So need your help.

I have an instruction "DIW102" in Step-7 with 300 series PLC programming in one of my FB which is used to access instance data word from instance DB. If I use same notation "DIW102" in TIA portal V11 with 1200 series PLC it is not accepting. It is giving error as "incomplete addressing".

There are many things of the S7-1200 that does not handle the same as the S7-300. The S7-1200 wants from you to use more symbolic addressing and move away from direct or indirect addressing.

I suggest you split off your question to a new thread and show us something of your program on why you want to use "%DIW102". The S7-1200 has alternatives to offer which may suit you.

Yes you are correct there are many things that S7-1200 does not support same as S7-300.

Anyway here I am attaching required screenshots for reference. I know that in S7-300 those variables are at 102 address in DB but in 1200 series those variables are at different address. Actually I want to access those variables (DIWxx) which are declared as "Struct" in which all variables are of type "Bool". And I want move them to another variable (#MSW) which is of "Word" data type. How this can be done?

Please help me in achieving this.
