Hi, i'd like to ask for help to look for a GSD file of PiM60 image based sensor from Sick. I am planning to integrate my PLC S7-1200 with the said sensor. I hope you can help me, thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello pjromano; Stick offers "S7 Function Block" for the Inspector PiM60, for Profibus, Profinet or TCP/IP exchanges on their main site. However, it is difficult to locate the exact file you would need from their Downloads filter. When you find a downloaf that looks interesting, it comes back with a "File not Found" message. I suggest you ask Sick support directly for the files you need. You could try to locate your nearest Sick sales rep on https://www.sick.com/us/en/contact Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello pjromano; I totally agree with you, that without a GSD file you cannot set a Profibus-DP slave, and without a GSDML file you cannot insert a Profinet IO Device in the PLC's configuration. One point you should examine: does the Inspector PiM60 offer either a Profibus or Profinet interface? The reference manual for the Inspector PIM series from Sick allow for a TCP/IP connection or an Ethernet/IP interface (with an accompanying EDS configuration file to integrate it in a Controllogix CPU) to connect to a PLC, See the screenshot below. I have found no datasheet or manual describing Profibus/Profinet interfaces for these modules on the Sick website. https://cdn.sick.com/media/docs/6/16/316/User_manual_Inspector_PIM60_ver_2.0_en_IM0081316.PDF Unless you have information (that you could share with us) stating that Sick provides Profibus/Profinet interfaces for that series of modules, I suggest that you look once again at the S7 Function Blocks proposed by Sick, to establish TCP/IP connections between your S7-1200; you will find code for tIA Portal v12 and higher inside the zip file. Or contact your nearest Sick rep. to request more details. Open the following link and look at the Downloads/Software tab, there you will find the S7 Function Blocks zip file: Sick Inspector PIM series documentation Hope this helps, |

Hello, I have read the documentation on the sensor, there is no Profinet interface, so you have to use the blocks provided by Sick, these blocks use open TCP IP. No gsd needed then,
Here is the link to the download± https://www.sick.com/nl/en/p/p302946 It comes with full documentation. Regards, Marcjan |

Hello jaouher_saidi; On the Sick website you can find a gsdml file for their AFS/AFM60 module, but it is more recent than the one you are looking for`You want a file dated 2021, whereas this one is dated 2023... One point in your favor is that the version of the file is the same (2.25), so this newer version could probably wotk with your module. If it does not, I can only suggest you reach out to Sick support and request the exact vesion of the gsdml fle you need, they might still have it in their archives. https://www.sick.com/ae/en/catalog/service/product-and-system-support/c/g300863 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
