Can't update IOT2050 Advanced FS:02

correac Regular Member Joined: 4/3/2020 Last visit: 6/30/2025 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm trying to update the IOT2050 Advanced FS:02 to most recent FW, using tutorial from forum: How To Firmware Update V1.4.x - 325217 - Industry Support Siemens That's a clean instalation, never run apt update or anything. My os cat release and fw output: I'm getting multiple errors, 1st error: root@iot2050-debian:~/V01.04.04-FW# dpkg -i iot2050-firmware-update_arm64.deb (Reading database ... 56522 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to unpack iot2050-firmware-update_arm64.deb ... Unpacking iot2050-firmware-update (0.5) over (0.5) ... dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of iot2050-firmware-update: iot2050-firmware-update depends on python3-progress; however: Package python3-progress is not installed. dpkg: error processing package iot2050-firmware-update (--install): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: iot2050-firmware-update If i run apt update && apt install python3-progress i can install firmware update tool. When i try to run the update command, i got this mesasge: root@iot2050-debian:~/V01.04.04-FW# iot2050-firmware-update IOT2050-FW-Update-PKG-V01.04.04-0-gd3b7b08.tar.xz Current board: SIMATIC IOT2050 Advanced Warning: Update may render device unbootable. Continue (y/N)?y ## Error: "m2_manual_config" not defined Preserved env list: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/iot2050-firmware-update", line 1063, in <module> CODE = main(sys.argv) File "/usr/sbin/iot2050-firmware-update", line 1009, in main args.reset File "/usr/sbin/iot2050-firmware-update", line 474, in __init__ for env in env_list: TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not iterable I saw that's related to M2 version of 2050, but mine is and old version of 2050, not M2, has an 16GB MMc. How to fix that?

udae Joined: 3/12/2024 Last visit: 8/15/2025 Posts: 183 Rating: (7)	Hello correac, as your current FW is <V1.1.1 (V1.0.0.2) you cannot update directly to the latest FW version (also mentioned in the documentation: “Firmware version V1.1.1 or higher is required for the update to V1.4.x”). 1. Please use a fresh V01.01.01 Example Image (not the one you use above) 2. Send me a PM with your mail address and I will provide you the necessary firmware update files to FW V1.1.1 (you can also build them by yourself from our meta-iot-2050 3. Boot your OS and transfer the FW Update files to the device 4. Use the firmware update tool and file to update to V1.1.1 → Now you can use the above mentioned documentation to update your device to the current FW version BR
