Hi, we have a project running PXC3 room automation. Normally we would see Siemens GDB or GLB VAV actuators but on this project we have Belimo LMV-D3-KNX actuators.

As there isnt any specific S-Mode application blocks to use that would make this easy, such as light outputs has LDAB/LSAB i dont know which is the best way to integrate these 3.rd party VAV's into ABTPro.

Does anyone here have any experience with integrating 3rd party VAV into ABTPro and have any suggestions on how to do this?

I have considered integrating them just using the setpoint as a percent signal, setting VavSuAflMinVnt to 0 and VavSuAflMaxVnt to 100 and then reading the feedback “VavSuPos” and “VavSuAfl” directly and using ETS to program the min/max values.

The second option i could think of would be to read the min/max/nom values, make an application that converts the setpoint in m3/h to % by calculating the percent value with the actual min/max/nom values from the actuator.

Thanks, we are familiar with the use of S-mode devices in ABTPro and creating and using devices using S-mode is not an issue :)

The issue is resolving the problem that when using GDB or GLB devices from the ABTPro library, it creates 3 BACnet points. Setpoint, position and airflow. But the setpoint is based on m3/h in our region, and the VAV in KNX/ETS is based on % based on the Vmin, Vmax and Vnom parameterized. So creating a S-mode device with datapoints as the device from ABT library wont work.

Our solution for now is that we have created an application in ABTPro which reads the Vmin, Vmax and Vnom from the S-mode device. It also creates a BACnet object that replaces the setpoint object from the VAV in the library. Then based on the requested setpoint from ABT in m3/h, it calculates the setpoint in % based on the Vmin, Vmax and Vnom which is read from the S-mode device, and then sends the calculated setpoint in % to the S-mode device.

We have not tested this yet, but this would in theory maintain the function of the ABT library which runs the extract air VAV as slave from the read airflow from the supply air VAV. Also the graphics in DesigoCC should work as normal.
