Tag Prefix Support

One of the pages is for online trend display and another one is for alarms. What I would like to achieve is the following: The trend and alarm tags assigned to these pages should be dynamic. For example, I would like that in the faceplate I created for an analog input (AI), only the trend of that specific AI and only its related alarms are displayed. This means that if I have 20 analog inputs, each one should have its own dedicated trend and alarms. When I click on a specific AI icon, the faceplate should display only that AI’s trend and alarms (e.g., HH, H, L, LL). Could you please advise if this functionality can be implemented in WinCC Professional, and if so, what is the best approach? Thank you.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/11/2025 Posts: 16400 Rating: (1935)	Hello elnur_sucayev first of all, do you want to use a faceplate with the tag prefix (so something like THIS) or do you want to use screen windows with tag prefix and without the use of a "faceplate"? its because the way of doing this solutions is a bit different But this requirement should be possible. for example the tag dynamization for the trend control and the filter for the alarm control you can set in a script in the loading event of the screen. you can use the prefix information in the script for example in VBS with the "parent" to read out the tag prefix property from the screen window.
