How do I update the hardware catalog in Step 7 Version 5.1?

I am trying to update the hardware catalogfor Step 7 version 5.1to include the 6GK7 343-1EX110OXE0. How do I do this? |

Hi Rick! A GSD file is a device database, which contains all properties of a DP-slave. GSD files are provided by the manufacturer of the device. But you are looking for the CP 343-1 - for this device there is no GSD file. I think you should try to install SP6 for STEP 7 V5.1 (download via this link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12642848). For STEP 7 V5.1 this is the only possibility to update the hardware catalog. STEP 7 since version 5.2 supports the download of hardware updates from the internet (see also this FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22306445). |
