Step7 V5.3 SP installation

PHeaney Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	First post so be gentle I am trying to install SP3 for V5.3 Step7. It get only a little way through the install and then it comes up with a message that says closing windows down to protect your computer and has codes c5511w2K error showing. I have tried to go back to the original version of 5.3 by repairing via the install disc and then repeat the process but no luck. has any one else had a problem like this and if so how did you overcome it Laptop is toshiba with XP SP2, 760M RAM Thankyou

Regarding to your problem with the installation of SP 3 of STEP 7 V5.3 we would like to inform you. Please consider, for Windows XP SP2 you need at least the SP2 of STEP 7 V5.3. It is not correct to use the repair function (or new installation) of the STEP 7 V5.3 Basis CD without service pack. We recommend the following steps: 1. Check your free space of the hard disk, you need at least 600 MB (better is at least 1GB) free space of your memory. Check the virtual work memory (should be adjusted 1500MB). 2. Copy the content of the CD ofSTEP 7 V5.3 SP3 to the hard disk and start the setup.exe from the hard disk again. 3.) If the second step is not successful please try the second setup.exe which do you will find by Disk1/STEP7/Disk1 (from the hard disk again). Consider also, you need the administrator's rights for installing of STEP 7.
