PCS7 OS download error

I have done the following: 1- Full compile OS without errors. 2- Complete download OS to master server. no errors 3- Complete download OS to standby. Downloading OS failed. Here is the load.log : SIMATIC WinCC V6.2 Copyright (c) SIEMENS AG 1995-2007. All Rights Reserved. Duration: 00:04:45 I don't get any explanation what the error it is. It only says download failed. The download was always completed without problems for the last 2 years and all the sudden doesn't work. If i try to open the project on the server, I get the following message : "The user does not have the rights to perform this action! Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows." I remember in an another project, I had to uninstall and then reinstall SQL server and then PCS7 on the OS server again to solve the download problem. Is there a away to fix this without reinstalling everything ??? any advice is appreciated Regards, Graeber

Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I remember solve for this problem. It was download WinCC application from ES to OS to emty catalog. When something was there (for. ex. copy used windows operation - network disc, chared catalog) I always had the same problem. Maybe it's will be solve...

I think it wasn't the user rights, it was something to do with the project on the OS server. I have renamed the folder on the OS serverwhere the faulty project is(from D:\OS to D:\OS1)then created a new folder (D:\OS) then downloaded the project from the ES to the new folder and all worked fine. What could havehappenedto the old project ? corrupted files ? Regards Graeber

Fatso Bronze Member Joined: 9/11/2006 Last visit: 3/17/2022 Posts: 168 Rating: (6)	Hi according to the fourth line in your log,the project was still open,maybe it didnt close properly.If you are doing a full download the project on the target should be closed,sometimes you need to restart the machine if some applications are still running in the background.

Corrupted files are always possible but the question is what could have caused the corruption? Probably the machine lost power during runtime? Or there was a server switch-over before the archive synchronization could be completed? Regards

Krrish !! Posts: 73 Rating: (6)	Hello, I suspect this a problem with the .LCK files. I recommend that you search both, your ESwell as the OS Server for any instance of the '.LCK / .lck' files for your current OS project. Once you have found them, you can delete them manually. But before that, make sure that there are no Simatic applications open on both ES and OS Workstations. Also, I have observed that the system is unable to delete these .LCK files post-download if you try to start Simatic Applications like WinCC on the server before the entire download process is completeed. Hence, make sure that you do not start WinCC on the OS Server until you get the pop-up for successful download completion. Thanks & Regards, Krrish !!!
