 I can't get the help to install either.  When I run the setup files for the Help, it gives error message saying these files can't be installed because Starter Help hasn't been installed.  Install Starter Help first.

So then to install Starter help, it says to run the original Setup.exe again.  However, the Starter exe (the 1st download among the links) is the Starter program without the help.

Why isn't there just a version that includes the help?

Most of the optional files that I try to install fail with a "current path too long" error when I try to run their setup.exe files.  This doesn't make sense because the file name is on the root directory and is at most 100 characters.

 Oh I think I see what I'm doing wrong.  It's the unpacking of everything into one directory according to a specific format.

From Siemen's site: 

Procedure to install STARTER V4.4:

1. Download the 2 or 3 or 4 attached ZIP files (depending on the selected download version)
2. Unpack the ZIP files into a shared target directory on your hard disk. Please ensure that there are no spaces in the entire path name of this target directory.
3. After unpacking, the shared directory must appear as follows (shown for the "complete" version):

   \...\GemeinsamesVerzeichnis\CD_1\

both links working correctly on my system, the Download Page for STARTER diesplayed.

Try it again later or got direct to the product support page of Starter
Product support -> Drive Technology -> selection and Engineering tools -> Starter commissioning tool

Hi,

solution is in my first post.

You must first install Starter help before you can install SSP_HELP.

So you must start the STARTER setup again and install the help then you can install SSP_HELP.

Hi!

Here is a picture for all who have a problem with HELP.

So if u download a STARTER from siemens web (Vol1, Vol2, Vol3) u have a 3 zip files wich you must extract to the same folder (like on picture).

Probably It is difficult for Siemens normally explain to people how to collect files and correctly install this Siemens product. It might look like separate pdf file under name "How to install Starter correctly". Isn't it?
