I am new to the TIA environment and am taking over an existing, working application. The system is live thus I will only have limited times to work on it. Im trying to put together a gameplan before taking the system down for testing. Any and all help is appreciated! CPU 1510SP-1 PN TIA Portal V13 version V1.7 The application is the following: The application steps through 10 time periods to heat 7 sections on a rotating tank that’s being wrapped in plastic. Powerful lights are used to heat the plastic being wrapped around the tanks. Currently there are different light intensity setpoints used for the 7 sections through the 10 time periods to heat the tank/plastic uniformly. The light intensity varies as plastic is wrapped and temperature changes. The light intensity setpoints is loaded from a csv file via a usb. Application change: Automate temperature control to heat the tank uniformly as plastic is wrapped. Basically instead of setting the light intensity we want to set the temperature and have the intensity be automated to keep the setpoint. This would hopefully eliminate the need to constantly load a modified usb file with small tweaks. From what I understand, the PID Compact was tried by a previous colleague before me but the tank temps were not consistent and we reverted back to the timed setpoints. After reading through documentation, manuals, and forums I believe the PID Compact is still the best way to do this. I do not seen any PID parameters from commissioning so I’d like to attempt this. Just wanted some input if this would be the recommended route to take and if there are any other suggestions. I'll attach the print out of what I currently have. of course for multiple zone heating each zone uses its own control loop |
