I am working on getting the backups of the Siemens PLCs at my work . I have an offline copy of the project but it was not updated after making a few changes. I tried 3 things after establishing communication and going online.

1. Copied the Function blocks from online copy to an offline copy. But when I went offline, i found few FC's were missing that were available in online copy. So, i don't think this worked

2. Tried to do a save as of the online file and still the same thing it’s missing those FC's.

3. Tried archiving the online project. Still the same thing.

I know we can compare the blocks and update the changes. But in this case the whole block or FC is missing. What would be the proper procedure if I don’t have an updated program. Do I have to do an upload on an offline copy?

  You have to compare offline back up with online backup block wise and update accordingly.

  Or you have too download blocks which has changed and then after you will be go for online monitoring.
