do you know of any OpenSource CAD program file which can handle the STP file format? I tried Blender (it is mentioned in the PDF), but it can't import those files.

NX is also not widely availably.

in the meanwhile I created my own 3D model of the left lid cover using OpenSCAD.

You can find it here: SIMATIC IoT 2000 2020 2040 left lid cover parametric on Thingiverse

It doesn't try to resemble the original lid cover, but it is optimized for 3D print and allows you to change some parameters.

Would it be possible to get the whole casing 3D model without the components in it?

From the link I found in the first post I can see the different bodies in the .stp file, but the whole casing contains the DB9 port, power connectors, the board itself and it seems to be impossible to delete those and only keep the casing.

I recently used a shield in the IOT2040, but there is an antenna connector going to the left which goes directly into the casing.

I would like to print the casing with a hole in it and keep the original casing intact.
