thanks for this tip. But I can't see an update file (service pack) there from 8.0 to 8.2. And the Update Center in the LOGO Software itself says that the online update functionality isn't available anymore. Instead, you shall go to that website.
 

Thanks WWEE, it works with POP!_OS 19.04, my problem was

java.lang.UnsupportedOperationExeption: adapter type 
is not support

and the solution as you explain it was to create 
the ifcfg file

sudo touch/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlp1s0

The same issue here on Bodhi Linux 5.0.. Solution worked.

But anyway, must mention I switched to work on LWE from Macbook with MacOS because on that system it was not possible to connect to machine. Logo Soft worked, LWE no way.

So this software in really an "BETA VERSION". Even on MAC it reports some "Windows error"

Siemens should be thinking before releasing..

Run this to fix it (first connect the ethernet network caple from your PC to the LOGO!):

Your solution still works like a charm at Ubuntu 22.10

The question is. Why this bug is still live Siemens?

The bug still persists on Logosoft 8.3, but the workaround still works.

Using Linux Mint 21.1 on VIrtualbox.

2024. JAVA error from 2014. Still there.. unbelievable. 10 Years..

Went again through (last time in 2020 when installing on old laptop). Right now I¨m on Ubuntu on Macbook. 

What else is broken:

- unable to control Logo Comfort using touchpad. Impossible to connect two points with touchpad - must take mouse, Java issue?

- LWE: picking up from database of buttons and graphics - sometimes freezes - Java issue?

- LWE: Logo on different subnet makes notification while trying to download html to webserver and when pressing it is OK and continue: nothing happened, no download starts. Had to rebuild whole network because of LWE

edit: have updated system incl. kernel and last Java - March 2024
