KTP400 Basic - problem with OS upgrade, downloading program

I'm trying to upload the program to KTP400 Basic (6av2123-2db03-0ax0, img. version 13.00.00.00_15.06, bootloader ver. 02.03) via TIA Portal V19. I can't. I restored OP to default, still nothing. Adaptation of target device failed. I thought it's maybe caused by TIA V19 and much older OP, they can't talk to each other or something, so I dowloaded trial version of TIA Portal V13, similiar issue. I also tried to upgrade the OS of OP through TIA Portal - SIMATIC ProSave, but it only works when I upload the "default" image version (13.00.00.00_15.06). When I'm trying to use some older or newer one, it says "The selected image can't be installed". All the stuff with IP addresses etc. has been checked by myself and everything about connectivity looks fine. TIA Portal sees the panel, can use the option LED, the screen blinks then, the only thing I can't do is downloading any program (and upgrading OS). I'm fighting this case since two days, I really give up. Already contacted Siemens' technical support here in Poland, but still awaiting response. Maybe you guys had a similiar issue and know how to handle it. All stuff about images etc. was also checked, installed, doesn't work. Panel has been reset to default two times alredy. Left this one unticked and uploaded program to panel. Still looking for assistance with upgrading OS... Or information if it is even possible for this version. Thx

MLBF number of my panel is 6AV2123-2DB03-0AX0. Path is for example C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\Transfer\14.0\Images\KTP400 for 14.00.00.00 image. Been trying with really all of them, since 13.00.01 (one step later than currently in OP), up to 17. All of them showing the same message - this version of image cannot be installed... I got dumb for real, no idea what to do. The last idea I got, maybe I need Siemens' flashdrive (already used 3 different nonames - no action, just stuck at bootloader)? Unfortunately I think this would be form over substance for this piece of old OP.

You should use the PIU Updater: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109825750 Only the image file would be not enough for TIA Portal. You can also use the offline installing process which is also described in the FAQ. TO do a US Update with USB you have to insert the USB Device on the TIA System-> then in teh project tree on the bottom there you should see the USB Device at Card reader USB Memory. Then use rightklick and the option: Then follow the instructions and there will be created a folder structure with all needed files on the USB Device. then you can work with it on HMI Panel in Service&Commissioning Bye Murof

Rodziu Joined: 10/19/2024 Last visit: 11/30/2024 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hey, Yeah, all of these, I used PIU, I used everything mentioned and still the same :) I started concidering this panel as an unupdateable I think I just need to remain on TIA Portal V13, luckily this OP is with me just for educational purposes... P.S. also done stuff with USB via TIA Portal, nothing changed because in the version I have the panel doesn't have Service & Comissioning option in settings.
