I would like to save my current work i have developed on my IOT2050.

How do i save the image off the SD card on my pc for further duplication if my sd card gets corrupted?

If you're using Mac or Linux, a good way to create a image of the sdcard is with "dd" package.

1º - Get the device path you want to clone 

diskutil list

 The command shows all your disk drives and you need to identify your sd-card device, in my case it's like this:

/dev/disk2 (external, physical):

     #:TYPE NAMESIZEIDENTIFIER

     0:GUID_partition_scheme*15.9 GBdisk2

     1:Linux Filesystem15.9 GBdisk2s1

After identify the drive you want to clone, run this command:

dd if=/dev/rdisk2 bs=1m | gzip > my-image-from-sdcard.gz

Note: It's a good idea use an "r"character before the disk name, if your sdcard is "/dev/disk3", use "/dev/rdisk3" to create the image more faster.

Note 2: The command "dd" doesn't have a progress bar by default and the process to create & gzip the image can be slow depending of your equipments. You need to wait the return of "dd" with this following result:

dd if=/dev/rdisk2 bs=1m | gzip > my-image-from-sdcard.gz

Note 3: The command "dd" it's default in MacOSx, but not in Linux distros, maybe you need to install over package managers like "apt install dd" or "yum install dd".
