Now I'm testing to use mPCIe modem on IOT2050. Preliminary it's successful. The problem is I just can ping to IP address only such as 8.8.8.8, but cannot ping by DNS name such as www.google.com.

In IOT2040, I can assign by 

• unlink /etc/resolv.conf
  
• nano /etc/resolv.conf
• nano /etc/resolv.conf , and edit the file

Yes, I use 3G/4G mPCIe card for IOT2050. So, I believe the IP address I get from service provider would be by DHCP.

I also use the same mCPIe card successfully with IOT2040 before but still need to modify resolv.conf.

If I can modify DNS setting in IOT2050, I think this mPCIe would be successfully tested with IOT2050 as well.

Finally, I solve this problem by adding DNS information "interfaces" file in  folder "/etc/network"

Just add "dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8" 

PS. I notice that using command iot2050setup also can setup 4G cellular as well. It's much easier because we don't need to setup DNS manually as in this case.

It's not a good practice to edit the "resolv.conf" file because this file it's managed by some process like "resolvconf" and will be rewrited when the gateway reboot.

The best way to setup the DNS servers in the IoT2050 is adding the servers in the "/etc/network/interfaces" like this:

dns-nameservers 12.34.56.78 12.34.56.79

 All the doc it's described here and works fine for me in the 2050.

=> Can be a good idea to restart interfaces or reboot the gateway after the DNS changes;
