MAG-5000 Not generating Output 4-20mA

Sandeep Bakoliya Bronze Member Joined: 7/20/2015 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 154 Rating: (27)	Dear All I am using MAG 5000 (7ME6 910-1AA10-1AA0) flowmeter, and its output 4-20mA connected to 4-20mA analog card. as per the attached diagram. I have configured the flowmeter as per given in the flowmeter manual. But the flowmeter not generating 4-20 mA current output. Jay. Posts: 1283 Rating: (105)	Is your flowmeter 24VDC powered? Are you using the same power supply for your PLC as well? If you use two different power supplies, it may not work. If you can show your wiring , then someone might be able to help here.

Jay. Posts: 1283 Rating: (105)	Did you check in the flowmeter for current output settings? I think there are some selections there for current output if it's enabled. Check for the error codes in the flowmeter it will help you to solve your problems.

You might need to enable (Turn ON) the current output with the pushbutton/display menu or via HART. See my app note (attached) for menu navigation. 2. I am using the same setting in the flow meter, I have turned ON current output in the flow meter, and configure as 4-20 mA, But it is showing continuously 4mA output, Flow is varying from 0 to 17 m3/h but it showing constant output 4mA. I think maybe its 4-20mA conversion card is damaged. Is it possible to check internally? Regards Sandeeep Bakoliya

The HART address has to be zero. Any other value for a HART address means the transmitter is supposed to be on a HART multidrop (series) network, where all transmitters have a unique address and all the transmitters are powered by drawing a fixed 4mA through the current loop. The process variable is supposed to be read via HART in such a case.
