I am converting a TI505 system to PCS7 and will be using the existing I/O system on Profibus DP. Can anyone advise how https://snaptube.cam/ 9apps the Digital I/O on 505-4316-A and 505-4516 modules should be mapped to S7 addresses? Does current X0001 map to IX.0 or I(X+1).0 or IX.7 or I(X+1).7 ? |

Hello Mateo; You will be using a Profibus RBC as a Profibus slave, replacing the TI505 CPU? In that case all the logic and configuration of the I/Os attached to the RBC must be reprogrammed in the S7 (or PCS 7) environment. When we did conversions of this type, we simply accepted the S7 addressing that was offered to un by the HWConfig editor, and maintained the links to the old configuratiomn (in the TI505) as comments and symbols in the control logic functions. It was too cumbersome to try and follow the addressing from the TI505, since it is word-based, and the S7 uses byte-based addtessing. See these links for more information: Interfacing the TI505-6870 DP RBC to a S7-400 CPU https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/5884479 S7 <--> Ti545 COMMS http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/archive/index.php/t-56216.html Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
