A.P.86 Regular Member Joined: 8/2/2011 Last visit: 10/9/2022 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm trying to make HOURS COUNTER on LOGO 0BA7 and that time show on HMI panel (KTP400) but I have problem with representation of results. On LOGO value is 5:00 and on HMI is 300. I tried to change "Display format" in WINCC, but no results. Do anyone know how to set TAG, DISPLAY FORMAT on WINCC so the value on LOGO and HMI will be same. William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1196)	Hi there, Does the value of "300" not ring a bell for you? 300 minutes >> 300 / 60 >> 5 hours Something to remember is that even if the LOGO displays HH:MM, it is not to say that the value is actually stored within the LOGO as that. It is stored (in this case) as minutes but shown to us differently. The value given to the panel via VD8 has no meaning to the panel, other than being a number. So what you need to do is make a plan to make inside the panel a converter to convert this to hours, or live with the fact that you see the value in minutes. It is should be possible to make your own convert function within the panel.. but it might be a bit messy giving a value of 5.00 hours as if a real number. Maybe there is some convertion you could make in the LOGO.. but again it will be messy. Another option would be to create your own version of the HOUR counter. It can be in two parts. The one part counts off minutes which in turn triggers a hour count. For this case you will have x2 variables to send to the panel - you could then display HOURS..MINUTES as humans would like to read. Is this of any help to you? Greetings. w

You could rescale the 300 that comes in to a value that is displayed as "5.00". The only issue is that the decimal will not relate to minutes. Example: 0.50 will represent 30minutes. w

When i choose DATE/TIME FIELD in WINCC, HMI (KTP400) won't take TIME from LOGO. I know that on PLC-s like S300 you must have DB for DATE and TIME. But here on LOGO i can't find solution for time synchronization. In options on KTP400 you can set TIME SERVER, but, when I choose LOGOs IP address, nothings happened. Also i saw that LOGO have M24 (Initialization flag). Can you please explain to us how we can use them, and how we can synchronize time between LOGO and HMI. Thank you William B. P.S. HOURS COUNTER will work in background :) without possibillity of seaing it

Surely there must be a good reason why you were thinking to put it on the HMI. Surely showing it in minutes would not be THAT bad. Personally I would re-engineer the hour counter to have two parameters. It is good that you are asking all these questions. Keep in mind however that the LOGO is marketed as a "Programmable relay". If Siemens put too many functions in the LOGO it will reduce the S7-1200's business. Get whatever you can get from the LOGO, but expect limitations.. so do your homework well. If you have not done so already.. get the System Manual for the LOGO. [adjusting time and date from HMI] I am of the opinion that you will not be able to edit the time/date of the LOGO with a "normal" HMI. I would expect the LOGO-TD (external text display) should be able to do more. Synchronising will not be possible (my opinion). Maybe the experts have more on this. LOGO! System Manual You cannot edit message texts from the LOGO! Base Module that contain any of the following parameters: ● Par ● Time ● Date ● EnTime ● EnDate You can only edit such message texts from LOGO!Soft Comfort. [special flags] Are sure you wish to know about M24?.. Are you sure you are not thinking of M8? LOGO!Soft Comfort Online Help, search = Flags Startup flag: M8 The M8 flag is set in the first cycle of the user program and can thus be used in your circuit program as a startup flag. It is reset after the first program execution cycle. In the subsequent cycles, the M8 flag reacts in the same way as the M1 to M7 flags. Please look at the thread.. [LINK] Other special flags exists.. I would encourage you to read the HELP given by the software or have a look at the System Manual. I hope this cover what you asked about. Greetings for now. w

Your answers have sense, you can't use LOGO as standard PLC, but it is interesting to find out where limits are. You are pretty good in LOGO "chapter", and now i have little bit of your knowledge. And yes, I was thinking about M8(INITIALIZATION FLAG), my bad, sorry. [About DATE/TIME FIELD ON HMI] I want to show DATE and TIME on HMI but problem is that after every unplug (shut down of HMI) you have another TIME which is not possible to change. Only possibility is to read TIME and DATE from Time Server, so i think that maybe is solution to make LOGO as Time Server. [About HOURS COUNTER] I want measure maintenance interval, so maintainer can see every day how much time he have to do next servis, so if I show value on HMI in minutes it will be little bit confusing. So i decided that I will put COUNTER in background, and it will be pop-up on time for maintenance.Solomonic solution One more time William B, thank you for help and solutions
