S7 1200 CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC can not connect

No router, no switch, nothing odd? If you cannot ping it, it may be the ip address is not set. If you check the box to view all accessible devices, does it appear after a while? What version of the TIA Portal software are you using?

I also tried without standard ethernet cable, with crossover too and without switch but same thing. I can not ping the PLC. I tried with PST 4.1 no success.

0_Einstein Diamond Member Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/24/2025 Posts: 15558 Rating: (2468)	It sounds like you either have a problem with the installation on your computer, or with the PLC. If you have the Siemens memory card for this PLC, you should update the firmware to the latest version (2.2) according to the proper directions. If you simply want to return it for a working unit, that might be a better idea. You might have luck getting your regional Siemens applications engineer to stop by and see if they can communicate with it. As an FYI, the PLC is supposed to work with either straight or cross-over cables as it auto-detects and auto-switches as required to connect to a switch or direct to a host (PC).

Youmay have todisable anyconnections you are not using to connect to the PLC. This includes disabling your wireless connection. Alternatively you can place them on different subnets from the port you are using to link to the PLC.

I have other cpuswith different ip address and all is ok with my computer.I tried the memory card reset procedure (https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=40588092&caller=view) but the cpu doesn't even read the card (and I use a Siemens memory card working on other cpus). The CPU looks to be dead... Since I'm not the first one to have this problem, is there a documented issue with the 1200 CPU causing this ? And a fix to this appart form replacing the cpu...

I have not had this kind of problem. What PLC and what firmware? I think a few s7-1212 FW3.0 had firmware related problems similar to what you describe. I suggest you contact Support Requestand alert them of the problem.
