Greetings LOGO! enthusiasts! I would like to share with you a home project that I have been contemplating doing for some time. I believe LOGO! with cloud connection would perfectly fit my use case and I would love to hear suggestions from experts. My family has a summer house where we grow vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and others. My parents are getting old (father just turned 70 this year) and it's been hard for them to keep up with the garden and greenhouses. I thought about how to help them. I came up with an idea to make an automatic irrigation system for greenhouses using the LOGO! controller and utilize the it's cloud connection for remote monitoring system. I created an architecture diagram of this automation system, you can find it in the attached file Automatic irrigation system.pdf. On the equipment side, it includes a water pump and motorized valves with moisture sensors that will be controlled by a LOGO! Controller. Soil moisture sensors will be installed in a greenhouse. When moisture drops below a certain level, the LOGO controller will receive the corresponding digital inputs DI1 or DI4. The internal logic of the PLC controller is configured so that when it receives at least one of the above signals, it will trigger the DO2 and DO3 outputs to open/close connected valves in the greenhouse based on moisture levels. After the valves reach their end position, they will send signals to the digital inputs DI2 and DI3, which will force the PLC to disable the valve control and start the water pump DO1. After reaching the required soil moisture, the pump will turn off. One of the most interesting things about this system is that thanks to IoT functionality and cloud connectivity, I will be able to monitor and control the irrigation process remotely. I'd love to hear your advice on how I can improve the project. Thanks in advance! AttachmentAutomatic irrigation system.pdf (1476 Downloads) |

New question published by Nick St is split to a separate thread with the subject What hardware to use to connect LOGO! basic to internet?. Best regards |
