Hello, we have a KUKA KR470 robot, we would like to make the TP1200 HMI communicate directly with the robot to control, read and write the (data) (tags), without a PLC intermediating this communication. The robot has Profinet and Ethernet communication. It's possible? If so, where can I find some documentation? Thank you for your attention. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello,
this situation isn't required investigate through some documentation. Why? You don't know what comm protocols are available at both sides to be same and efective and also your 3-rd party robot HW comm role, in specific case. Your first primary step can be simply look at your HMI technical data description to know what interfaces and comm protocols are available. Then you can check your robot side and compare what can be best, if are available same at both sides, as I said. Very important thing here is that Panels act generally as Clients or Masters so to this option you need have configured your robot. I think that other step can be check Forum for more possible connections experience from users about possible Modbus TCP, Profibus or Profinet and then also specific type of your Panel docuentation with expected configuration SW. Somehow I see some problems with use of panel without some ' bridge' PLC to robot, especially with cfg steps due your specific requirements. In case you put some PLC between robot and panel (f.ex. S7-1200) you can have better option to solve more problematic situations due your actual expected cfg. This PLC can easy connect to HMI this type via PN and maybe then also better handlke data exchange via other comm interface/protocol and role. My opinion. |
