Dear Siemens Support Team,

Our company is currently automating a large sugar factory, and we have encountered the following problems while using WinCC RT Professional 16 for SCADA visualization on operator workstations.

We are running two redundant servers (WIN-SRV01 and WIN-SRV02) and several clients (CLIENT01, CLIENT02, PKF, CLIENT-04, CLIENT-05, CLIENT-06, VKU, CLIENT08). All workstations are in the same subnet with private local networks. All users are members of the groups SIEMENS HMI, SIEMENS HMI CS, and SIEMENS HMI VIEWER. Folder sharing permissions on the servers are configured with full access for these users. All required licenses are installed.

The issues are as follows:

1. Slow execution of VBScript in faceplates and pop-up windows

   - On all clients, scripts in faceplates and pop-up windows take around 10 seconds to execute.

   - Scripts are short, without loops or errors. For example, a script may simply display a PLC tag in a different format:

     TextValue = SmartTags("some tag") & " kg".

   - Screen update times vary depending on the object, from 250 ms to 2 s.

   - Ethernet speed is 1 Gbps.

2. Slow screen loading on some clients (especially CLIENT01, CLIENT-05, CLIENT-06)

   - Almost all screens take a long time to open, even though hardware specifications are sufficient (Intel 5th generation CPUs, 16–32 GB RAM).

   - The Windows 10 operating system itself runs smoothly — the delays occur only in Runtime.

   - Even on the servers themselves, data arrives slowly and screens also open with delays.

   - Network latency between operator stations is about 1–2 ms.

   - The hosts file is properly configured on all workstations.

Our Question:

What could be causing these performance issues, and how can they be resolved without reinstalling the software, since the factory is already reaching nominal production capacity and we cannot stop the equipment?
