Broken Siemens Mobile Panel 170-series frame

melee.la.styles Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello all. At the laboratory I work at, we use automated mills controlled by Siemens SIMATIC Mobile Panel 170. One of the supervisors dropped the pendant and the guard above the e-stop has snapped off and is now lost. Thankfully everything else is working ok, but we need to replace the broken upper frame shell. Is it possible to get just the upper frame as a replacement? If so, where from?

MM1234 Posts: 270 Rating: (53)	Hello melee.la.styles, I don't know how this goes exactly with mobile panels, but based on this topic http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22639376regarding multipanels and regarding my experiences so far, it seems not to be possible. However, I wish you good luck and perhaps if you contact your local siemens partner / service center, they will tell you how to get this thing fixed.

melee.la.styles Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I guess that on the bright side, the Mobile Panel 177 has the same form factor as the 170 that it superseded - it is not as though it is impossible to source a replacement upper plastic. I will get in contact with spare parts in the eastern states regarding this tomorrow morning. If this does not work out, is there anywhere online or otherwise where old broken controllers are either scavenged or sold as spare parts? As long as the front plastic is intact, that's all I need!

You can just send the panel to a repair center there it will be repaired. I also don`t think that there isn`t a company wich sells used spare parts or pieces of panels speratly (or you check Ebay). best regards

melee.la.styles Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	it turned out that we had a mobile panel with fried electronics lying around, and replaced the cover from that one. eBay was going to be my last resort. i ended up calling Siemens Australia this morning, but didn't get any information from them yet, but all in all, problem solved thanks to all who read the post, and especially those who replied
