I have done positioning of a big waste water gate only by time. There was a limit sensor for "open" and "closed" that I used as reference. The positionwas calculated by the moving speed. Any timethe valvereach one of the limit switches, I adjust the timer. It was working fine also in PID regulation mode. Of course, a linear encoder is better. Have a look at AUMA, the have a lot of valve equipment. http://www.auma.com/cms/AUMA/en/ |

hi Raheel as I now positioners are devices that use for operate the device such as valves (its mean you send commend to valve an positioner adjust the commend to the valve via actuator ) but for request i'm not sure siemens have special device for just show the position of valve. you can use siemens positioner and use its feedback to monitor the position of valve |
