Hello. I have flowmeter SITRANS MASS 6000 connected via HART protocol and i need to write "low_flow_cut-off" parameter from application. I don't understand: is it possible or not? Which device command i should use ? Thanks in advance! AttachmentHART operating manual.pdf (153 Downloads) |

The Mass 6000 local GUI keypad/display allows configuration under Basic Settings > Low flow cutoff (0-9.99%) To communicate via HART, one needs a HART master. HART masters implement the device commands listed in the HART manual. Unless you want to buy the HART specification from the HART Foundation (and buy a membership in the foundation for 10,000 USD) and write/code your own HART master, then you'll probably want to use a commercial HART master like a) software like Siemens PDM, Pactware, or Emerson's Asset Manager b) a handheld communicator like the Rosemount 375/475 It's tough to say whether low flow can be set via HART because Siemens doesn't document PDM or Pactware functions for any of its instruments, even though Siemens has device specific DD and DTM files for the software and the communicators that use its DD, DTM and EDD files. Go figure. If you have a HART modem, or are willing to buy one, you can install a) the Sitrans DTM (only installed once for all Sitrans instruments) b) the device specific Mass 6000 DTM file in Pactware (either Krohne or Vega's versions are fully open without restriction) and see if Low flow appears as a setting. The page at the link below gives a summary and links to both (select 'entry type' = download; open the first one on the list of downloads) http://tinyurl.com/krxwpke Or you can buy a copy of Siemens' PDM software and install the Mass 6000 EDD file and see if PDM allows low flow cut-off. There are Rosemount handheld communicator DD files for the obsolete 275 and the old 375 listed on the Siemens download site, but no DD for the current 475 communicator. I don't know if that's an omission or whether the DD is available for the 475 via Emerson subscription. I suspect that either PDM or Pactware allows the low flow cut-off setting, but only a test connection trial with a HART master will tell for sure. |
