I am using an MPS PA machine to study WinCC and PID using Siemens 314C-2DP controller. After several reinstallation of the program suddenly it cannot detect the station and the SF indicator is RED. How can I connect to the station and what is the probable cause/meaning of the trouble?

Wath is the program you reinstall??

To see PLC diagnostic buffer you need Step7 v5.4 software and MPI-PROFIBUS interface.

Do you have this?

In this manual  (cap 10.8) some indication about leds meaning.

what SW do you have to load your program in the 314C?

Did you load the HW-Config with other connection parameters?

When the SF-LED is on, you have to look online. Further diagnostic is available there.

If you can´t go online try to reset the CPU to delivery state. See the following manual on page 197 how to do it.
