For RS232 port, instead of using null modem, you can interchange PIN 2 & 3. You can also get many 3rd party RS232/RS485 converters with screw terminal or D type connector M/F in the market. A popular Mfg is given below

I am familiar with B&B and have used them extensively in the past. We didn't want to go that route. Also, making a custom cable is "easy" but also not"acceptible" for our application. Its justthe way we work here..
