Hi MIG.MAD! The total number of S7 connections between the WinLC and a SIMATIC NET OPC server on the same PC is theoretically 64, but in real life you only need one or two. Using Ethernet communication with WinLC you can configure up to 8 S7 connections per ethernet card you use (and up to 64 S7 connections, if you had 8 ethernet cards [;)]). If you read/write data via the SIMATIC NET OPC server from a WinLC (on the same PC!) you don't need a special license for SIMATIC NET. In your case you want to access data with the SIMATIC NET OPC server from a PLC (this could be a WinLC or any other S7 PLC) via Ethernet. In this case you need a license for the S7 communication via Ethernet on every PC that is performing the S7 communication (e.g. the PC with the OPC server and the PC with the WinLC = 2 licenses).
