I am having problems(since i am a newbie) in batch reporting i have somehow managed to generate and save  the report in pdf but my issue is i want to have a event specific report rather than all the logged values being displayed in the report i have configured tag logging through a start and stop events but when i generate the report it gives all the data that is stored in those tags can someone help me with that

 Thanks for the response let me elaborate a little bit,

I have to make an application for a pharma machine where i have to generate the batch report for which i have used report designer and tag logging to archive the data, now my problem is in runtime when i generate generate my report all data that is saved in the specific tags is displayed in the report rather than the specific batch report is there any way that i can filter the data through specific batch number or i can control the batch report using start and stop events where it would generate report inbetween that specific event

from WinCC Online trend Control you can set your start an stop time.

Also from Trend Control you can instigate your report.

Depending on the type of table you are using in your report, you can configure start and stop times for your reports.  If you are using the CCAxOnline Table Control in your report, double click it to open the object properties dialog.  In this dialog, select the Connect tab and then click on the Dynamic Parameter entry and click the edit button.

In the parameter editor you can select tags for the Time Column Begin and End times.  The best way to handle this is to create 2 internal tags in WinCC for the start and end time of the report.  These tags need to be of the string datatype to make this work.  See the attached screen shot where I have created 2 internal tags to hold the start and end time for my report.

I have done this for a recent project where the user enters the start and end time for the report with the IO fields linked to the 2 internal tags.

When the report is then run by the user, the report engine will look to use the values specified in the start and end tags to limit the output to the time range you want.

I do not think it is possible to apply additional filters such as a unique batch number for example using the Online tables.  To do that you need to write a SQL OpenQuery to directly query the tag archive, but for this I'm sure you need the Connectivity Pack addon to WinCC which is yet more expense and a steep learning curve unless you have a SQL guru you can call on?

Personally I find Reporting one of the most frustrating and difficult to use aspects of WinCC and wish there was a viable alternative as its awful UI, limited filtering and poor layout controls really hold it back.
