plcembedd Posts: 8 Rating: (3)	Hi all experts, I am LOGO! 8 PLC programmer, and now I am beginning to start SCADA developement. I want to ask which software should I install ?, 1. TIA portal with Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional & WinCC Professional 15.1 x64 2. WinCC RT Professional 15.1 x64 3. STEP 7 Professional 14.0 4. SINAMICS Startdrive 14.0 5. WinCC RT Advanced v15 Please excuse me if my question is not OK as I am beginning scada developement I know nothing about it and I can get limited software through my college programme. I am confused too because I found that "Up from version 12 of WinCC the driver “LOGO” is available" and also "I think the Logo! communication driver is only available for a WinCC RT advanced , not professional." in this post : unable-to-connect-tia-15-version-to-logo-8/185145 Please hep me so that I can learn SCADA developement with my LOGO8 Waiting for your fruitful reply, Thanks and Regards

Unable to connect TIA 15 version to logo 8 In your place, I would quickly forget this topic. The communication driver "LOGO!" is available in all WinCC (TIA) variants. You can use him with WinCC Basic, Advanded/Comfort or Professional. Since WinCC TIA V12 there is the communication driver "LOGO!". Before that you had to use the driver "S7-200". You do not need a server connection in the LSC program. Only in WinCC do you have to create a connection (see attachment). The screenshot is from a V13 project. If you need an example, post it with details: - Which WinCC version and variant. - Which LSC version. - Which LOGO! (Order number). Attachment Connection.JPG (597 Downloads)

Should I Take WinCC Professional 15.1 x64 or WinCC RunTime (WinCC RT) Professional 15.1 x64 ? or WinCC RunTime is included in WinCC Professional ? i.e., so I should install WinCC Professional 15.1 x64 ?? Please tell me. Thanks and regards

WinCC RT is automatically included in every Siemens panel and does not have to be installed. But if you want to use a "normal" PC as a visualization instead of a Siemens panel, then you have to install WinCC RT on this PC.

Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional & WinCC Professional 15.1 x64 2. Siemens SIMATIC WinCC RunTime (WinCC RT) Professional 15.1 x64 So I am confused, if I install the No. 1 will it automatically install the No.2 also ? OR I install the No. 1 first and then install (ADDON) the No. 2 later ? Please guide me Thanks and regards

WinCC is the software for creating a visualization. WinCC RT is required so that the visualization created with WinCC can run on a PC. If you use a Siemens panel for the visualization, the run time is already integrated and does not have to be installed. Both are stand-alone software packages and must be installed individually.
