I think you have more knowledge about "Cutting technology" than I . My advantage is electrical and electronics, of cause Siemens CNC/PLC/Drives as well. this time you have couple of doubts, I just answer some as I know. --Link is download "manual Cycles" you can read how to set up Cycle83--I suggest you try Cycle 81 1st, then cycle83, make sure you have all Siemens cycles loaded into CNC memory --check program-cycle--to see all cycles have check mark after loaded[x] https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/attachments/109439500/PGZ_0400_en.pdf --"Base" data in Tool offset--just left it empty, it is just give user some options and flexibilities. --you can think it is tool adaptor . --And as I know if you input a tool as drill , normally will only think about ONE length compensation , not like mill tool thinking radius as well. if you find and download the 840D programming I post in last week, you will find description for tool offset. For G83 I will check and answer you in next post PS:if you download the whole book "Cycles" there is example for cycle 83--see my attached pic
