I am a new BEE! however, I need your help in providing me with a simple LOGO! program of a step and direction control of a stepper motor. I have my setup that Includes a stepper and a driver that accepts Step and Direction. Your help is highly appreciated, Regards, Hani Al Mandeel

Is this program developped to control the stepper motor through a driver board with "Step" and "Dir" signals or directly trhough a bridge of transistors? Thanks

bmwbykrydr Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	I haven't really tried the program out yet. I intended to wire the four coils of the motor directly to the LOGO. If you have a two coil motor then change the shift register to 2 registers.You could use transistors if you wanted, but the thought was to use whatever supply voltage you needed to drive your LOGO, then if your motor was different, use a separate supply for the motor and just let the LOGO sequentailly alternate the coils via the LOGO relaysusing that supply. My LOGO and my motor are both 12VDC, so I have only one supply. If I had to buy a LOGOfor this application I would purchase the transistor output version, such as the LOGO 24, but the relays should work. May not be the fastestand it willmake some noise, but it should work. I've not tried the more advanced circuit yet,but that one seems pretty good when I simulate it. That one also appears to switch the supply voltage to the motor using the onboard relays/transistors. Don

I do agree with the advantage of using the relays output so you don't care of supply voltage of motor but I'd like to have a bit more than the 2 Hz output... and I'm wandering how will the relays stand for long time.. So I'm will install an extension module with transistor outputs controlling transistors bridges... I will investigate in the direction and let you know... Bye, Bye... Pat.
