S7-communication is a generic name for a protocol between Siemens devices. This could be used on PPI / MPI / Profibus / Profinet. The PLC instruction pair that is most associated with S7-communication is PUT and GET, but it the protocol is much wider than this. Open User Communication (OUC) is Ethernet based which includes TCP and UDP variants. It is not bound to Siemens products. In the PC programming you can look to 'socket' programming to create a partner. On the OUC theme there is a library that is worth a look: Best health. |
