I have a question that has been bothering me for some time.

When calculating the cables for drives with frequency converters, the cables are sized according to the size of the FC protection device and not according to the actual size of the motor. Normally we size FCs one size higher than the motors. In this case, the motor cables are sized, for example, for 11 kW, which is the size of the FC, and not for the motor, which is 7,5 kW. This means that, after the calculation, we end up with much larger cables than necessary.
Please explain how you deal with this issue.
