I have Simatic Net IE Softnet-S7 Lean 2006 running on Windows XP.

It has been working okay for a couple of months. Now I'm getting a communications problem.

When looking at the Station Configuration Editor the IE General (at index 1) is missing from the component list. The diagnostics tab shows two messages:

IE-Converter Index 1: The module was removed from configured operations

XDB-Adapter Error no.: 0x84110100

Using Simatic NCM PC Config I try and download to module and get the following message:

Online: Connection could not be established. The connection partner is not responding.

After clicking okay to acknownlege the error this error message pops up:

Unable to establish the connection to the module IE General (Index 1) in station PC Station. Do you want to continue downloading without this module?

Does any one know how to recover from this? And, what may have caused it?
