I have recently run into exactly the same problem trying to get a Siemens 505 PLC to be a Master to 2 CP 342-5 modules. Every 3.8 seconds, the 2 CP342-5 modules would just stop replying to a request for data. No other information or errors. As soon as the 505 queried them, they replied and came straight back online again. When we turned the “Test, Commissioning, Routing” box off everything was good - no dropped comms. We used the Profitrace equipment to look at the message traffic and sure enough, when the 342-5 was an active slave it participated in the token passing and comms dropped out. When the 342-5 was a passive slave it did not grab the token and did not fail.
Splitted from COMMUNICATION BETWEEN IM308C AND CP342-5. |
