CP1613 A2 issue

Now I have two problems: Even after installation CP1613 does not show up under network connections (shown in picture “Lan.jpg”). Why is it so? In configuration editor it says that NDIS driver is not installed (shown in picture “console.jpg”). Now question is will I be able to use CP1613 for AS-OS communication over ISO given the above two problems? I gave a try to this but didn’t succeeded so I want to be sure that it is technically possible. Meanwhile under device manager it does not show any error in CP (shown in picture “device_manager.jpg” and “driver.jpg”). Also attached is the picture showing list of installed software with their versions on OS (“versions.jpg”) for reference. Iam using PCS7 V6.1 SP3 and OS is Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2. For AS-OS communication over ISO is NDIS Driver not perequisite. You made the steps? 1) NETPRO Compile and download to AS/OS 2) AS compile and download 3) OS compile and download Regards

So I conclude that NDIS is only needed in case of Office communication and NOT for AS-OS communication over ISO. Will give a try to this tomorrow. Also what shall I do to install NDIS if in case card is used for office communication? Following are the steps which I have done 1. NETPRO compiled but XDB is imported that is connection is not dwonloaded from NETPRO 2. OS is compiled and downloaded 3. AS is compiled but somehow I ended up downloading only changed hardware and not the whole program. Will perform complete AS download tomorrow and check. Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello manmeet, i think you have a mismatch within your mac addresses. In one of your first screenshots you posted the MAC address of CP1613 and the shown address sounds like the MAC of your on Board Ethernet card. Check MAC Address in HW config. Check if you have now twice time the same MACin your pc by using MS DOS box and the command IPCONFIG /all (only there the MAC will be shown by windows). Maybe change the MAC of CP1613 in HW Config. Save and compile everything and download it. Check in WinCC that your connection is correct linked within NAMED CONNECTIONS. To install CP1613 as regular network card you must install the NDIS driver located on SIMATIC NET CD. There is a special directoryfor install, it will not be installed via default setup.

Intially I just reaplced CP1623 in IPC with that of CP1613, all this with PCS7 installed. But as mentioned inmanualsection 2.2, I did fresh install (recovery dvd) of OS, followed with fresh PCS7 installation. Things started falling in place after this. Also intially I was under impression that NDIS is a must for CP1613 to work, but now I know its not (Thanks to JOTST).NDIS is only needed when you want to use CP1613 for networking purpose.
