s7-1200 modbus tcp client

Heisenberg95 Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Hello, I want to use my s7-1200 as a tcp modbus client and receive informations from another computer to my plc. I'm using the MB_CLIENT communication block, and I'm getting an error ! The "status" variable takes the value 80B6 which means "Invalid link type only TCP connections are supported." I also get a red flashing led (error) on my CPU Any suggestions to solve this ? Best regards. Attachment Capture.PNG (229 Downloads)

Heisenberg95 Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	I actually did the same steps as this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4CHW9EbIkM I just changed the address of the pc in the"remote address" under "connect" in "MbConfig" DB (I put the Ethernet IPV4 address). For the hardware config, I'm connecting both my s7-1200 and the pc to the local network using Ethernet connecters. For the pc, I'm using the Modbus Slave application used in the video. This is the first time I'm trying to communicate between my S7 -1200 and another device using Modbus TCP so I don't really know what's wrong. If you need more informations, just ask ! I'm looking forward to hear your answer.

How is your PC configured? IP and Port value as is needed for MB Server? Pls show us your settings, also from your Server PC. In other side, start with this example from Youtube and not to know what is executed/functionality there, it is hard help also if you not familiar with Modbus enough. Update: simply check your first post picture, there is also red icon on left side of PRJ tree, this can indicate something not correctly set on HW cfg, some parameter about connection???
