Hello AOA94: I imagine you would get a system error attempting to connect Profibus-DP devices to S7-1500H/R CPUs to establish redundancy. The S7-1500 R/H system uses Profinet connectivity with MRP ring topology to connect to redundanct IO devices and between the redundant CPUs. Hello Daniel Chartier, Thank you for your help! I have seen the document and I built the structure base on it, but I'm wondering how Siemens offer a new redundancy solution without adding a solution that cover and enables us to communicate with Dp-slaves! Regards, |

Hello AOA94; Siemens does propose a way to integrate DP slaves in a S7-1500R/H ring, theough a PN/PN coupler and a secondary Profinet controller (with an additional DP master CM or CP).This allows S2 reduncancy throughout the Profinet ring, and adds acess to the DP slaves data. It might look contrived, but not much more than the design of a Y-link, in a S7-400H system.
