MrBus Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	I am considering connecting my S1200 14 PLC my Fanuc R-J3 controller using tcp/ip I have used Profibus throughout my career and am now faced with a controller with out a "standard" PB master. I dont wish to add it. Anyone do it

I dont wish to add it. Anyone do it If you have your Fanuc's GSD file, you can import it to your portal software, then select it for your project. Then you can select the proper telegram for cyclic communications with the robot.

If there is a profinet gsd file, install it into your portal software. If you want to create your own communications using sockets or something like that, you are blazing a new trail I think.

The tcp/ip communications commands you need to get comfortable with for the S7-1200 PLC: TSEND_C RCV_C TCON TDISCON T_CONFIG Those commands do what you are wishing to use.

I will still be working on the application. I am typically in favor of off the self solutions but I have many...... more than 12 of the systems and cost will take its toll.

Hello MrBus, PROFINET is more easy in my opinion as it needs very little time to configure and more over it is a deterministic and fast communication

MrBus Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	The R30iA mate controller is not availible in PN. Has anyone used the KP1200 Profinet to the TCP/IP proto from AB. the KP1200 can comm to the AB tcp/ip, how about the fanuc robot, it does tcp/ip to a AB controller?
