I've got an error message : "SSMRTGetPicturePathInfo failed : invalide picture path in parameter" followed of a general protection fault. I don't know why ?? As regards your second solution, I have already tried itpreviously. But it doesn't work : my objects on my view (.PDL) are loaded after the name of the view appeared in the property "PictureName" of my window of images. In fact, I have the impression that there is asequential order during the load of a view : - display of the view in the window of images, - display of the objects of the view, - reading of the variables in the API, - progress of the scripts. So, when the name of the view appeared in the property "PictureName" of my window of images, my view aren't loaded entirely ! You can click on my navigation button before the end of treatments. Sometimes it causes crashes of the process "PdlRt.exe". That's why I want to block my navigation button. Do you have any other idea ?

I'm still wondering, why you are need such a solution. How long does it take to open the picture? Maybe there is a very different (performance) problem on your system which should be solved. regards

violinette Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	In fact, my company did not develop the application. We were called to find why the process"PdlRt.exe"crashin a random way in the change of a view. But thereare developmentin C-ANSI everywhere andthis code is not reliable. The application was not developped according to the recommendations of Siemens. It would seem that there are scripts which run in the load of the views and if we change view before these scripts stopped, after a while, we have a crash ! It is as if there was a buffer of error which filled before crashing. It's very difficult to us to find the problem because it's a "random bug" !! We arelooking for the bug since July... So, the solution of ease was to find when a view is entirely loaded and lock the button of navigation. When we've got a crash, we have always a problem of ACCESS_VIOLATION in the module Dmc.ocx (PDLRTSEH.LOG). That's why I dont think we have aperformance problem. Sorry for my english... I hope thatyou understood me... Best regards.

That's why I dont think we have aperformance problem. Thank you!!! This is what I wanted to know Access_Violation in pdlrtseh.logis a crash of the process "pdlrt.exe". This is the graphics runtime. So normally when error occurs you are unable to operate everything on the system. Mostly a crash of the pdlrt is caused by wrong vbs scripts (vbs scripts in process pictures (pdl) are handled by this process) There are two possibilities now: 1st: You will make some diagnostics with ApDiag or the global script diagnostic window and you'll find out where script errors occur etc. If you've find out you can fix this scripts and everything should work fine Second: You install the Microsoft userdump tool on your system (Download)(How to use)You prepare it for an automatic dump of the pdlrt.exe process (Access_Violation). Then you have to operate as long as the crash occurs and a userdump will be created. If you have the Dumpfile you have to contact the technical support team. The guys there can analyse the dump file and can find out, where exactly the crash occurs. BUT: They can only find out, where the crash occured this time. If there are more wrong scripts, it is possible that there is a next crash a few days later caused by another one. At the moment, I don't see any other possibility!!! best regards

I was wondering if anyone had the problem. I also thought it was easy to know when a view is loaded and that some people had used the information to display an hourglass on the mouse during the load, for example. I was wrong. I'll make another dumpfile and send it. I hope this will be the last ... Thank you for your help. Best regards.
