Hello,

I'm trying to onboard a SIMATIC IPC227E device.

I have already configured an Edge Manager and created an onboarding file.

When I try to activate the IED via web interface by uploading the file, I get the following error:

"Applying nginx settings failed, hostname could not parse IEMS URL."

The Manager is running in a virtual machine using VMWare and bridged network with dhcp ip address x.x.x.109.

The IED is connected to the router with an assigned IP address x.x.x.110

Versions:

- Edge Device: ied-os-1.1.0-58-amd64

- Edge Manager: 2.4.0-11

Does anybody have clue what I'm missing?

Hello,

The FW version of your IED it's very old. This is a known issue. IEDs with FW  samaller than v1.3 cannot be onboarded to the new IEM types, such as IEM Virtual.

To be able to onboard your IED, you should first update it's FW version using the Industrial Edge Service Stick. Below you can find all the information about how to create and use it to update the FW version of your IED.

Long story short, you have to create a bootable USB with the .swu file of the new firmware and boot the IED from USB.
