Registration and Membership

You will have to choose a user name or an user name will automatically be generated for You. For better readability and display, your user name should not exceed 15 characters. As your user name will be visible for all other users of the Forum, You are advised to choose a pseudonym as your user name. The same applies to your avatar.
Do not use copyright-protected terms and graphics as your user name or avatar.

Forum Description

The Forum is intended as a free of charge communication platform where you might find help with your questions from other users which may post comments and answers in the Forum. The Forum may be referenced in documentation of Siemens’ products or services, however, the Forum is always made available free of charge to you and you will not receive a discount or price reduction if you do not access the Forum. Even though Siemens endeavors to provide you with an answer to your published inquiries, no user or Siemens employee shall be obligated to react or answer to any requests posted in the Forum.

Posts, Intellectual Property and Export Compliance

You retain the copyright in your posts and will be responsible for your posts. Notwithstanding Section 5.3 of the Terms of Use, by posting in the Forum, you grant Siemens an unrestricted, nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and display any of your posts throughout the world in any media. Siemens is under no obligation to post or use any submission, and may remove your posts at any time.
You grant Siemens and its affiliates the right to use the user name you chose for your profile in connection with submissions (including, by way of example, displaying your user name on Your posts or replies).
Texts from other web pages or other publications must not exceed the scope of a quotation. You shall mark such quotes as such.
You are not allowed to publish personal information of third parties (names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.) without their explicit agreement. Respective information will be deleted by the moderators without further comment if Siemens becomes aware of it. Telephone numbers and e-mail addresses which you state as your own data and of which Siemens becomes aware of will also be deleted from your post to protect you.
Screenshots, projects or other additional information must be published as an attachment of the post. When this information is included as a “file hoster” link, Siemens may make this linked information available as an attachment. In this case these links will be deleted after review by the moderators.
Contents of a post and possible attachments must be in compliance with Export Control Regulations, i.e. the content must be limited to publicly available information and direct derivations from it.

Limitation of Liability

Notwithstanding Sections 8 and 9 of the Terms of Use you agree that your use of the Forum is at your sole risk. The Forum is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Siemens is not responsible for any decision you are making relying on information gained in the Forum. If you download any materials from this Forum, you do so at your own discretion and risk. You will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of any such materials. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from Siemens or other users shall create any warranty of any kind. Siemens does not make any warranties or representations with regard to the use of the materials and information on the Forum that such materials and information is accurate, complete or current. Siemens does not control, review, revise, endorse, or accept responsibility for any third party content, information, messages, materials, projects accessible from or linked through the Forum. Any dealings you may have with third parties via this Forum are at your own risk. You specifically acknowledge and agree that Siemens shall not be liable for any defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of any user of the forum.

Compliance with Forum Terms and Applicable Law

You further represent and warrant that you will fully comply with any laws applicable with regard to your use and participation in the Forum. Such laws include, without limitation, export control regulations, laws protecting classified information, intellectual property, trade secrets, copyright and other third party rights, or restrictions towards third parties, such as confidentiality obligations.

Deleting and processing posts

All posts must be created to support a respectful and friendly tone in the discussion. Posts which counteract this prerequisite, particularly posts including attacks against other users, may be deleted by the moderators without further comment. When creating posts, user names, avatars and links to external pages, please make sure they are not vulgar, pornographic, offensive, obscene, defamatory or glorify violence. This is not permitted. Nor are posts with content violating copyright and other rights or posts for competitor products/live streams and the like. These will be deleted by the moderators without further comment.
Posts/user names or avatars as well as links to pages which obviously only serve to advertise own services are unwelcome. The moderators reserve the right to delete them without further comment.
Posts against the interests of Siemens AG and its affiliates (like publishing unlicensed program copies, ...) will be deleted by the moderators without further comment or will be edited. The forum moderators are entitled to make posts only publicly visible after a content check. Moderators have the right to edit posts (e.g. in case of display problems, ...)
Threads and posts created by you and other users may be transferred to other conferences or split in separate threads by the moderators. You are not entitled to demand that these remain at their original position.
Authors will be notified accordingly.
Multiple discussions will be closed.
In the interest of the community, technical questions raised via contact to moderator or in personal messages with moderators or experts may be posted by moderators in the appropriate conferences in the forum. The publication is focused on the technical context and with the aim of enabling participation and use by the community.
If you violate the Forum Terms, You may be excluded temporarily or permanently from participation in the Forum.

7. 

User Ranking

For every user, a points account is kept for his activity in the Forum. It is used for the ranking of the users. Your personal ranking is part of your public profile that is visible for every other user. In a suspected case of dishonest acquisition of points, Siemens reserves the right to reassess your point account. Details on the weighting of the points will not be published.
Ratings and thanks should be granted with caution. They serve as a feedback to the author of a post and to assess a post as “particularly helpful”. In case of misuse of the assessment system, the moderators will delete previously granted assessments and thanks or have them deleted.
