I have a WinCC Flex RT 2008 project that runs an HMI. I am using SIMATIC Logon 1.6 on Windows 10 x64. Both the HMI and SIMATIC Logon systems are domain-joined and I'm attempting to use domain accounts and groups to manage access. I have a test domain user called "HMI" and a test domain group called "simatictest", which "HMI" is a member of. 

When logging into the HMI interface, SIMATIC doesn't seem to be enumerating the domain group. Instead, it tells me that " account " is not a member of any group.HMI" and then the SIMATIC Logon Remote Access service crashes with the following error info:

 In my project, I've experimented with which groups are in there, but one constant is that it never seems to enumerate the "simatictest" group. I do not have group order hierarchy enabled at present.

What am I doing wrong here? Why does my service keep crashing and why isn't SLRA enumerating the group members correctly?

I have the same problem with the Logon 1.6 but I can login sometimes but not everytime so is there anyone who has solved this problem, why it's crashing?

There is a patch for this issue. I ended up creating a service request and that's what Siemens provided me. Good luck!

 Is patch available on Siemens website for download?

I did a service request and get an update for this (SIMATIC_LOGON_V1_6_Upd1_EU_ASIA.zip), so do a request and you will get the update.

I had the same issue. For a temporarily fix I set properties of SLRA Windows Service to auto-restart after the (1st, 2nd and all later) crash.

Permanent fix is installation of the Simatic Logon 1.6 update.

The latest update for the Simatic Logon 1.6 is currently Update 3 (SIMATIC_LOGON_V1_6_Upd3_EU_CHS.zip)
